Resteclin is an antibiotic that treats various bacterial infections and is frequently used as an alternative for individuals who have a penicillin allergy.

It is important to limit sun exposure, as this medication can increase sensitivity to sunlight. All tetracyclines create stable compounds with Ca2+ in bone-forming cells, which can result in permanent discoloration of teeth during their development.

People with hypersensitivity, those who are pregnant (especially in the second and third trimesters), breastfeeding mothers, and children under 8 years old should avoid this medication. Caution is advised for patients with kidney failure.

Possible side effects include allergic reactions like hives, breathing difficulties, and swelling of the face, lips, or tongue. If you encounter these symptoms, discontinue use and consult your doctor immediately. Seek urgent medical attention for serious side effects such as severe headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, fever, body aches, significant skin blistering or rashes, decreased urination, jaundice, confusion, weakness, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, rapid heartbeat, unusual bleeding or bruising, and overall weakness.

Resteclin may interfere with the effectiveness of certain contraceptive pills. It is advisable to take iron supplements, multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, or laxatives either 2 hours before or after taking Resteclin. The dosage of indirect anticoagulants should be reduced due to the suppression of intestinal microflora. Additionally, the efficacy of bactericidal antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins, which target cell wall formation, is also diminished by Resteclin.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule—never take a double dose of Resteclin.

For severe and persistent allergy symptoms or for nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, consult your doctor for appropriate medical guidance.
